Ukrainians are returning to buying private houses: the real estate market is showing steady growth.
Despite the challenges of wartime, the private real estate market in Ukraine is gradually recovering. After a record drop in 2022, when only 100,710 private house purchase and sale transactions were concluded (minus 69% compared to the pre-war period), a significant market recovery was recorded in 2023. The number of transactions increased by 71.4% to 172,638. This positive trend continued in 2024 when 178,439 transactions were recorded, 3.4% more than a year earlier.
Experts explain this trend by several factors: Ukrainians’ desire to have their own homes outside of large cities, their search for safer housing, and their investment in a stable asset in times of uncertainty.
