The song Sonnet by the Ukrainian band DakhaBrakha has become one of the soundtracks for the new Apple TV series Pluribus. The original version of the song was released in 2020 on the album Alambari. Still, the musicians prepared a shortened version for the series. The updated track appeared on November 14 in the band’s profiles on Apple Music and Spotify.
The initiative to involve the Ukrainian band and other non-English-speaking performers in the show was the series’s music producer, Thomas Golubich. He is convinced that such tracks and covers best convey the ideas of revolution and enlightenment that underpin the project.
Recall that Pluribus is an American post-apocalyptic science fiction series created by Vince Gilligan, the author of the cult films Break the Bank and Better Call Saul.
The story centers on writer Carol Sturka, played by Ray Seahorn. It takes place in Albuquerque, where she is one of the few people immune to a virus that makes those infected perpetually happy and carefree.
