Yaroslav Trofimov, published by Penguin Press, won the 2024 Peterson Literary Prize for Non-fiction for his book Our Enemies Will Disappear: The Russian Invasion and the War for Ukraine’s Independence.
The winner was announced at an award ceremony at the historic Old Mill in Toronto at the end of November. The winner receives $25 thousand, and the book publisher receives $5 thousand.
The Peterson Prize for Non-Fiction is a biennial international award that recognizes the best books written in English or Ukrainian that contribute to a better understanding of Ukraine-related topics of relevance to a global audience.
In his book, author Yaroslav Trofimov, chief international correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, describes Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the heroism of the Ukrainian resistance.
