Ukrainian track and field athlete Anastasia Alembita set a new Ukrainian youth record in the 100-meter hurdles. The previous achievement stood for 25 years.

The athlete set the new record at the European Junior Championships in the Italian city of Rieti, covering the distance in 13.66 seconds.

The previous Ukrainian record — 13.70 seconds — was set in 2001 by Yevheniya Snigur at the competitions in Bila Tserkva.

In the semifinals of the European Championships, Anastasia Alembita ran the distance in 13.84 seconds and failed to reach the final. At the same time, it was at these competitions that she updated the national youth record, which remained unsurpassed for a quarter of a century.
