Athens (Greece) hosted the World Wrestling Championship among athletes under 17 years of age. In the freestyle wrestling tournament, Ukrainian Artur Kostyuk rose to the highest step of the podium, becoming the winner of the competition in the weight category up to 80 kg.

The U17 World Cup ended on August 3.
