Hollywood actress and UN Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie has supported 14-year-old Polina Pliska from Kharkiv Oblast, who was seriously injured in a Russian missile attack on Izium on February 4.
Currently, the girl is undergoing treatment at the Kyiv Children’s Hospital Okhmatdyt, where doctors are doing everything possible to help her get back on her feet.
During a conversation with a psychologist, the girl admitted she would like to meet Angelina Jolie. United24, a fundraising platform in support of Ukraine launched on the initiative of Volodymyr Zelenskyy on May 5, 2022, partially fulfilled her dream.
Polina Pliska received a note from the actress and talked to her online.
“Her biggest dream is to walk again, and Ukrainian doctors are working to make it happen. The girl also said that she dreams of meeting Angelina. We did our best to help make her second dream come true. The American actress talked to Polina online and sent her a support note,” United24 said.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time Angelina Jolie has expressed support for the Ukrainian people. Earlier, she called for support for local foundations in Ukraine. Before that, she visited Lviv to draw the international community’s attention and increase assistance to Ukraine from other countries.
