Exclusive unisex t-shirts featuring prints where the designer explores the motif of the motanka – a traditional Ukrainian doll, an ancient family amulet. In this way, the designer continues his experiments with modernizing and popularizing the rich Ukrainian cultural heritage. “Motanka” is not just a limited series of t-shirts.
This is the first collection as part of the designer’s future long-term collaboration with the charitable foundation of Lilia Rebrick, which addresses the issues of those affected by the full-scale Russian invasion. One of the foundation’s current projects – “Unconquered” – helps women and children who have lost their homes and jobs due to the war and are practically forced to start their lives from scratch.
Part of the proceeds from each t-shirt sold from the “Motanka” collection, both offline in the Andre Tan retail network and online, will be donated to Lilia Rebrick’s foundation for the “Unconquered” project.
Additionally, collectible motanka dolls will be made alongside the t-shirts. During the first week of sales, they can be obtained as a gift after purchasing a t-shirt, and later the dolls will also be available for wide sale – with the proceeds from their sale also going towards the “Unconquered” project.
The face of the new collection is Ruslana Danilkina, a 19-year-old military servicewoman from Odessa who lost her leg in the war during shelling.
