A Ukrainian man runs seven marathons on seven continents in a week and sets a record

Ukrainian Maksym Kryvenko ran 7 marathons on different continents in one week. His result was recorded in the Book of World Records.

The advisor to the Minister of Youth and Sports, originally from Poltava, ran a total of 295 kilometers and 265 meters. In seven days, he ran the classic marathon distance of 42 km 195 m on seven continents: in Antarctica, Cape Town (Africa), Perth (Australia), Dubai (Asia), Madrid (Europe), Fortaleza (South America), and Miami (North America).

Between races, the athlete mostly flew between continents, almost without proper rest. An additional difficulty was the sharp changes in climate – from the frosts of Antarctica to the heat of Africa and South America.

Kryvenko noted that the test proved difficult not only physically but also psychologically.

The Ukrainian’s achievements were registered as a record. In a week, he ran seven marathons on seven continents, covering almost 300 kilometers. This was the first such result for a Ukrainian representative.
