A large-scale technical failure in the operation of services has occurred around the world. The reason is Microsoft.
A large-scale technical failure in services, banks, exchanges, airlines, and IT systems has affected dozens of countries around the world, from the United States to Asia.
In particular, dozens of airlines, including United Airlines, Delta Airlines, American Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Ryanair, airports in Spain, Ireland, Australia, Qatar and other countries, as well as the London Stock Exchange and dozens of banks, have reported problems with their systems. In Ukraine, the logistics operator Nova Poshta, SenseBank, and the mobile operator Vodafone have experienced technical problems.
Bloomberg writes that an unusual cascade of failures occurred after Microsoft Corp. reported a failure in its online services, including Azure and 365 online services. Microsoft is already looking into the issue.
Several publications report that some problems are related to CrowdStrike cybersecurity software and its interaction with the Windows operating system.
Shares of the American anti-virus company Crowdstrike fell by 11%. Microsoft shares also lost almost 3% amid the outage in the first minutes of trading on NASDAQ.
