Artificial intelligence has become an integral part of Ukrainians’ everyday lives, but the commercial appeal of this technology remains limited. Even though the vast majority of citizens regularly use neural networks for study or work, they do so exclusively in a free format, and the level of trust in algorithms in financial or private matters remains critically low. This is reported by the research company Gradus.
According to the survey, 85% of Ukrainians use artificial intelligence tools in some capacity. However, the level of their involvement is uneven: 52% of those surveyed are situational users, while 33% use AI constantly. Another 15% of citizens do not interact with such technologies at all.
Analysts record a strict age dependence: among young people (aged 18-24), the share of active users reaches 60%. This indicator drops rapidly with age: in the 25-34 age group, it is 40%; among 35-44 year olds, 31%; and among 45-54 year olds, 26%. The smallest share of intensive users is among the older age group (55-60 years old) — only 18%.
The Ukrainian AI market is actually monopolized by two products. The absolute leader is ChatGPT from OpenAI (83% of respondents know about it, and 72% use it directly). Google Gemini confidently occupies the second position (64% recognition and 50% use). The remaining services remain niche: Microsoft Copilot is used by 9% of respondents (with 20% knowledge), DeepSeek — 7% (with 19%), and Claude — 6% (with 15%).
Despite such widespread popularity, development companies face total reluctance among Ukrainian consumers to pay for the product. As many as 79% of respondents use exclusively free versions. Another 8% of citizens had experience with a paid subscription, but were disappointed with the service and canceled it. Only 6% of Ukrainians now regularly pay for one or more AI services.
