Ukrainian Matvey Kolesnikov won two gold medals at the European Youth Draughts Championship-100. According to the results of the competitions held in Estonia, he became the best in the classical and blitz games among cadets.
The Youth Continental Championship lasted from August 1 to 9 in Tallinn. In total, 186 athletes from 12 European countries took part in the tournament.
Matvey Kolesnikov, a graduate of the M. V. Shelest State Youth and Sports School “OSHShK”, competed in the under-16 age category. The athlete won two gold medals:
- In the classical game, the athlete scored 15 out of 18 possible points;
- In the blitz game, the athlete won, scoring 16 out of 18 points.
