The finale of the third season of “House of the Dragon” was directed by Ukrainian-Indian director Andriy Parekh. On his Instagram, he talked about working on the eighth episode and showed footage from the set.
According to Parekh, the work on the finale lasted 57 shooting days. He called this period a great adventure and noted that the team had the opportunity to bring a story of significant scale to the screen.
The director especially drew attention to the theme of war, which became one of the central themes in the final episode. According to him, he wanted the audience to think not only about the confrontation between the characters, but also about its consequences after watching it.
“House of the Dragon” is a prequel to “Game of Thrones” and is based on the book “Fire and Blood” by George R. R. Martin. The plot tells the story of the struggle within the Targaryen dynasty, which takes place approximately 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones”.
The final episode of the third season was released on HBO on August 9.
