Regular screenings of Ukrainian cinema to start in Cannes as part of the KobzART festival

Cannes Film Festival to open with the Day of Ukraine

The Franco-Ukrainian Association in the South of France (AFUCA) is launching a new year-round program, KobzART_cinema, in Cannes, France, which will present modern Ukrainian feature and documentary films to audiences.

The first two screenings will take place in May and June at the Les Arcades cinema. The audience will be offered films with French subtitles, which will help attract not only the diaspora but also local residents to Ukrainian content.

Schedule of upcoming screenings:

  • May 29 (Friday), 7:00 PM – lyrical comedy “Well, Mom”. The film tells the story of growing up and warm family relationships.
  • June 12 (Friday) – documentary “Cuba and Alaska”. The film is dedicated to the everyday lives of two Ukrainian paramedics at the front, their friendship, and their endurance in wartime.

The goal of the initiative is to make Ukrainian cinema accessible to French audiences on a sustained basis, expanding the KobzART festival beyond one-off events.
